 We select classes for the grade levels below based on enrollment, student interests, and teacher availability for each subject. Information about upcoming classes will be added as they are known. Classes, class times, and teachers can change throughout the summer planning process.    

Early Preschool

Children ages 2 and 3 will play, share, sing songs, and become acclimated to a co-op environment. Children will be introduced to basic learning skills (ABCs, 123s). The school day will include learning and play time, outdoor recess, indoor activities, and quiet time activities in the afternoon (with naptime) Afternoon quiet time/nap time will be included. Three-year-olds will participate in Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. 

Preschool/Kindergarten

Session 1, TBD (Taught by TBD).

Session 2, TBD  (Taught by TBD).

Session 3, Catechesis of the Good Shepherd, ( (Montessori faith formation, www.cgsusa.org; taught by Shelia H., Level 1 CGS Catechist) Class runs from 1 - 1:45 pm. 

Session 4,  Block Rotations. Children in the preschool/kindergarten class will join with the older students to learn using a "one room school" model, with helpers to assist with age appropriate follow up, after the general presentation.  We will rotate four subject areas during this 90-minute afternoon block: Science, Music, Liturgical Cooking & Traditions, and "Dad's Day" with an emphasis on safety, navigation, outdoor skills, etc. In instances when a presentation is not relevant to preschool and kindergarten students, students will enjoy a movie hour in their classroom.

Grades 1-2

Session 1, World History. Students will learn about world history, as presented in The Story of Civilization, by Tan Books. More details to be provided in late August.

Session 2, Poetry Alive. Students will combine the study of poetry with elements of drama and fun to bring great works of poetry to life.  More details to follow in late August. 

Afternoon Block Rotations (1-2:30 pm).  Students in Grades 1 - 8 will learn using a "one room school" model, with helpers to assist with age appropriate follow up, after the general presentation.  We will rotate four subject areas during this 90-minute afternoon block: Science, Music, Liturgical Cooking, and "Dad's Day" with an emphasis on safety, navigation, outdoor skills, etc.

Sessions for high school are based on the needs/interests of students and availability/expertise of available teachers.
